Why see an Osteopath?

Osteopathy is based on a number of principles and a system of diagnosis and treatment for a number of medical conditions.

An osteopath will use a number of tests and movements to diagnose and treat the symptoms which include neuromuscular of the upper and lower limb, muscle strength assessment, joint range of movement to assess the bone and muscle structure.

Osteopathy can be used for the effective treatment of joint and muscle pain, back and neck pain, sciatic and sports related injuries. The techniques used aim to enhance and assist with the body's natural self-healing mechanism.

An osteopath will try to understand how the injury occurred, what damage has been caused and if there are any factors preventing recovery.  Questions will also be asked about your general health to make sure you are suitable for osteopathic treatment.
